I've always wanted to make a quilt out of hexigons and I'm so pleased with the result. The pattern is called "Hexie Blooms" by Cotton and Joy. It's a traditional design with a twist. The twist being that I've chosen to use a modern collection of fabric. The fabric is called "Camellia" by Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society. The background and backing is also from Ruby Star Society and it's called "Speckled." It compliments Camellia very well because it has little gold speckles. The quilt is multi directional, so as you can see from the photos, I have placed it on the bed with the longest lengthacross the bed, so that it drapes nicely. I free motion quilted it on my domestic machine using my usual wavy/coral design. It's all made by me, using 100% cotton poplin and 100% unbleached cotton batting.

The quilt is machine washable at 30' and can be tumble dryed on a cool setting.
I prefer to line dry my quilts, it doesn't take too long.
